Three teenagers killed after falling from matador’s roof

KISHTWAR: Three persons of village Tagood Mugalmaidan were killed after they fell from the roof of the matador in which they were travelling on Kishtwar-Bhandarkote Road of District Kishtwar on Thursday.
According to reports, A Yatri Matador (Mini Bus) bearing registration number JK17-3051 was on its way to Tagood from Sarthal , when reached at Bhandharkote, driver lost control on it as result of which it skid off the road and three teenagers sitting on the roof top of the Matador fell direct into Chenab River (about 300 feet from road).
However 37 passengers were boarded inside the vehicle had miraculous escape as vehicle stop on the edge of road. Police along with locals fished out all three bodies from the river and shifted them to Distt Hospital Kishtwar, where doctors declared them as brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Ashwani Kumar 18 Son of Shambu Nath, Sanjay Kumar 19 Son of Sulla Ram and Neeraj Kumar 14 Son of Chunni Lal all Resident of Tagood, Kishtwar. Police has registered a case in this regard at Police Station Kishtwar. It is notable that the vehicle was carrying Yatri returning from Sarthal Matta Temple.
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of life in the unfortunate accident. In a message, MLA Inderwal G. M Saroori expressed his sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
He assured all possible assistance to the kin’s of the deceased’s and he has also appealed to Chief Minister to immediately release Rs. 5 lakhs ex-gratia relief in favour of next kin of the deceased’s.
MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta and Randeep Bhandari has expressed their condolence and sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
