Rally, cultural programmes held to mark World Disability Day

UDHAMPUR: To mark World Disability Day, a rally was taken out from Mini Stadium, Udhampur on Friday which after passing through Gole Market, Chabutra Bazaar, Sailen Talab, Hospital Road and Ramnagar Chowk culminated at Town Hall Udhampur.
Chief Education Officer, Udhampur, Balbir Singh who was the Chief Guest formally flagged of the rally in which a large number of students drawn from different schools of Udhampur and Jib Zones participated.
While highlighting the aim to hold such type of rally, the speakers on the occasion said that the main motive is to spread a message for removing barriers to create an inclusive and accessible society for all. They urged the parents of children required special need to send their ward to the educational institutions for their welfare.
Cultural programmes which included dances, skits and songs were also presented by the differently abled students which were highly appreciated by the audience. The main highlight of the programme was a dance item on “Aage badh tu chhu le aasman” song presented by Middle School Lower Magyot.
Later, prizes were also distributed among the participants.
DEPO, Bimal Roy, ZEO Udhampur, Chand Pandita, ZEO Jib, Pritam Das, ZEPO, Udhampur, Shashi, Incharge Programme, Rajkumar, Ashwani Badyal and teachers were also present on the occasion.
