PHE employees stage demonstration, seek pending wages

JAMMU: PHE workers and employees under the banner of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association Jammu Province staged a demonstration seeking pending wages besides highlighting other demands here at Chief Engineer Office, B.C Road. The demonstration was held under the leadership of Shiv Kumar Sharma, State President INTUC and Provincial President Water Works (PHE) Employees Association Jammu Province. He asked the authorities to do away with injustice and release all the pending wages of the Daily Wagers, C.P workers, ITI and land donors before the ensuing festivals. The employees also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Engineer PHE Department Jammu seeking regularisation of daily wagers, restoration of work at defunct workshops, conduct of DPC meeting, release of seniority list before DPC, inclusion of all the ITI passed daily wagers and C.P workers in the ITI Category, benefit of SRO 43 to daily wagers, implementation of Minimum Wages Act, implementation of 7th Pay Commission, etc. Raman Kumar, Ajay Sharma, Madan Lal, Radhay Shyam, Balbader Raj, Mangal Dass, Ashok Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Ram Paul Saini, Ghulam Nabi, Madan Lal, Rajinder Kumar, Hans Raj, Joginder Paul, Bhadur Singh, Avtar Singh, Jyoti Kumar, Anchal Singh, Ravi Kumar, Navdeep Singh, Swaran Singh, Sham Lal Dingra, Shail Din, Abdul Rashid, Jagdish Singh, Mohd. Shafi, Varun Kumar, Mohit, Raj Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Sukhdev Singh, Naresh Kumar and Parshotam Kumar also addressed the protesters.
