MVD charges Rs 5,300 fine from traffic violators

UDHAMPUR: On the directions of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, an extensive drive to check the violation of Motor Vehicle Act was conducted by Motor Vehicle Department Udhampur here today.
A team led by Assistant Regional Transport Officer Udhampur, Rajesh Gupta laid a surprise Naka at Dhar Road and conducted extensive checking of vehicles.
The team compounded Challans of 53 two wheelers for various violations of MVA norms. An amount of Rs. 5,300 was also realised as fine on the spot.
ARTO warned the commuters to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of MVA. He further added that strict action would be taken for violation of MVA. He also asked the two wheeler users to use helmet while driving. The inspecting team also warned passenger transport operators not to carry goods in their vehicles.
He said that the special drive has been launched to tighten noose around the habitual violators and it will continue in future to streamline the vehicular traffic in Udhampur District.
Avneesh Sharma Inspector Motor Vehicle Department Udhampur and staff of ARTO and police officials were part of the inspection team.
