Govt Primary School Kunalsoo without drinking water

CHENANI : The villagers and the parents of the children studying in Government Primary School Kunalsoo, Tehsil Chenani strongly resented the non-availability of drinking water in the school during this scorching summer.
The deputation of villagers which met the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur in April, 2016 and explained their problem also brought to his notice the availability of a Natural source nearby this school which can be tapped for supply of drinking water in the school.
The DC Udhampur gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that drinking water will be provided in the school by tapping a local Bouli. Accordingly the DDC issued a directions to the Executive Engineer PHE Division Udhampur under his letter No 111/Adm dated 22nd April, 2016 to take action under Water Regulatory Act 2010.
The PHE authorities with the assistance of police team from Chenani when reached the spot to tap water, were prevented by Lamberdar Krishan Lal son of Ganju Ram.
The villagers now have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur take appropriate action in the matter so that the water is tapped and supplied to the school. They also brought to his notice that the natural source has a yield of 2 feet which if tapped can irrigate sufficient agricultural land, leave aside a 25 mm pipe for school.
Prominent among those present include Mir Hussain, Nazir Ahmed, Mohd Yonus, Romesh Singh, Ratan Chand, Dharam Raj, Ram Lal, Mohd Aslam, Nitu Devi, Khem Raj and Gopal Krishan.
