BDO attached, 5 officials suspended

JAMMU: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Law and Justice Abdul Haq Khan conducted surprise inspection of Block Development Offices at Satwari and Miran Sahib on Wednesday.
Taking a serious view of unauthorised absence of BDO Miran Sahib Naresh Kumar and other officials, the minister directed to attach BDO to Directorate of Rural Development and suspension of Section Officer Sandhya Pathak, Assistant Account Officer Neelam Kumari, Junior Assistant Pawan Kumar, CIC Operator, Vikram Singh Charak and Data Entry Operator, Nisha Kumari.
The minister directed Assistant Commissioner Development Jammu who is appointed as enquiry officer to submit a report in this regard at the earliest. Meanwhile BDO Satwari has been assigned additional charge of BDO Miran Sahib till the completion of the enquiry.
The minister was accompanied by the Director Rural Development Jammu M.L Raina.
The minister also held a meeting with the officers of Block Satwari and enjoined upon the officers to work with utmost dedication to achieve the set targets.
“Accountability and transparency are key to efficient service delivery mechanism”, he maintained and directed the concerned officers to ensure punctuality in the offices
Later, the minister visited the upgraded Fruit Plant Nursery developed at Marallian under the convergence initiative with MGNREGA.
