NIT Srinagar violence episode Shri Ram Sena garners support for Jammu Bandh

JAMMU: Seeking dismissal of police personnel indulging in Lathicharge on non-local students in National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, Shri Ram Sena, Jammu and Kashmir, announced a one-day Bandh in Jammu, on 7th April.
“We have called a Bandh on Thursday over the NIT incident which is a shameful act of some anti national elements,” Rajiv told reporters here on Wednesday.
Seeking strict action under law against all those who indulged in anti-national activities inside the NIT campus, Rajiv Mahajan said that all those who raised Pro Azadi slogans, celebrated the defeat of India in Semi-finals of world cup, pelted stones on those raising pro-India slogans besides indulging in India bashing were required to be booked for sedition.
“When non-Kashmiri students tried to go towards the main gate and talk to the media personnel, the policemen started hitting them. The beating was severe. Some were hit with rifle butts too,” Rajiv mentioned.
Rajiv Mahajan also expressed thanks to State President Kranti Dal, Pritam Sharma, State President Shiv Sena Hindustan, Rajesh Kesari, State President, President JK Motor Transport Co. Association, S Gajan Singh and several other organisations for extending full support to the Jammu Bandh call.
Rajiv Mahajan called on the peace-loving social and political organisations, groups and individuals all over the Jammu region to raise a voice for peace and against violence and to support the Jammu Bandh call so that the people in the country may live in peace and honour.
“We will fight tooth and nail against any kind of incident which create communal tension in the country,” he said adding that NIT incident is very shameful and shocking act and his party will not tolerate such brutal attacks on innocent students.
Rajiv Mahajan urged Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene in this matter immediately and take stern action against the culprits and remove Jammu and Kashmir Police from the campus area and deployed CRPF for safety and security of non-Kashmiri students as well as for checking any anti-national activities in the campus.
