At a time when count-down has begun for elimination of terrorists in a country that gave birth to them, their extended progeny in Kashmir continues to enjoy the concessional loaves and soft-peddling by the weak kneed governments in New Delhi and in Srinagar. They continue to call shots by inciting passions and promoting anti-national sentiments by indulging in disinformation campaigns. The militant-turned-activist Yasin Malik, who is undergoing treatment at government expense in SKIMS, has threatened to go for indefinite strike against ‘atrocities launched by the police against innocent civilians’.
Is it matter of pride or shame for the governments that have been demanding strict action against terrorists lodged in safe haven of Pakistan to give a long-rope to the similar tribe in Kashmir?
