Why Omar Abdullah has singled out PDP for giving ‘senior leader’ status to Ashiq Bukhari, whom he describes as a Task Force specialist and says Mufti Sayeed has “insulted the dignity and intelligence of the people” by formally embracing the retired SSP. The senior leader trend is very common with such of the bureaucrats as have joined parties like BJP, Congress and NC recently despite lacking political acumen (which is, in fact, not required in today’s politics at all).
Is it a matter of pride or shame for political parties to have only leaders (that too senior) without any follower or supporters in real sense of term?
