Intrusion of riffraff and the political left-over in media has finally taken toll of a profession having sanctity of being the fourth pillar of democracy. Expected to instill chill among politicians by objective reporting and carrying out investigative journalism at the peril of their lives, some black sheep in journalistic fraternity have degraded the profession to extreme low levels. The worst example of it came to fore when an ‘elite’ co-called journo bowed down in full media gaze before the Chief Minister at an interactive session and tried to touch his feet, a ritual prohibited among Muslims.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for this class of journos to keep the flame of objective journalism aloft while touching very low depths to further their political or business interests under the garb of being journalists?
