For decades, we have been listening to ‘liberal funds’ being pumped into Jammu and Kashmir for its development and upgradation of various utility services. And, for decades we have been watching the overall condition of the State deteriorating on each front. The situation has now reached such a passé that special measures are taken and lots of deliberations held to ensure ‘basic minimum facilities’ to the people only on festivals and special occasions. The government has announced hassle free power, drinking water, essentials during the holy month of Ramadan.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for successive governments to ‘dole-out’ something with a sense of pride that should have otherwise been its basic legitimate responsibility?
