KATHUA: One youth was killed and the other got seriously injured when the scooty they were driving, rammed into a parked truck late in the night on Sunday.
Both the youths were heading towards their home from Lakhanpur when their scooty rammed into a parked truck at Lakanpur.
Both of them were seriously injured and were immediately shifted to District Hoispital Kathua by Lakhan-pur Police with the assistance of locals.
The doctors in hospital declared one Sunny Sharma son of late Manohar Lal resident of Ward No 10. Kathua as brought dead while the other youth identified as Tirath Ram Kapoor son of Om Parkash resident of Wa-rd No 8, Kathua was referred to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.
However, family members of Tirath Ram Kapoor shifted the injured to Amandeep Hospital Amritsar instead of GMCH Jammu.
Body of Sunny Sharma was handed over to the family members after completing legal formalities and was cremated in the presence of hundreds of people including prominent persons of the district.
