Tree plantation, symposium mark Teachers’ Day celebrations

RAMBAN: To celebrate the National Teachers Day Nirvana Academy, a cultural club in collaboration with 109 Inf Battalion (TA) MARATHA LI under the aegis of 11 Sector RR, organised a programme in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School Ramban.
Commander, Brig K.P Singh was the Chief Guest whereas Chief Education Officer(CEO),Ramban, Mohammad Sharief Chauhan was the Guest of Honour on the occasion while Dy CEO Ramban Baj Ji Thaploo and Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Ramban Zubaida Parveen presided over the function.
In the function, besides speeches by eight students of various schools on the role of teachers, ten teachers from different school were also honoured and felicitated. They were awarded with a memento and a Commendation Certificate each. Those teachers who were who awarded include with Sanjay Kumar, Raj Singh Raju,Mumtaz Ahmed, Kuldip Singh, Ajit Singh, Raghuvir Singh,Kiran Bala, Saidullah Katoch,Sita Ram and Sushma Gupta. Pawan Kumar was awarded with a special award for his outstanding services in the field of education.
R S PURA: A programme was organised at the Govt. Higher Secondary School R S Pura on the occasion of Teachers Day where MLA R S Pura, Dr. Gagan Bhagat was the Chief Guest .
“Teaching is the profession that teaches all other professions, mediocre teacher teaches, teacher explains, superior teacher demonstrates, great teacher inspires,” said Dr. Gagan Bhagat while speaking on the occasion.
The programme was marked by short play, folk songs, quartet and songs presented by different students of the school. Principal of the School K.L Raina delivered vote of thanks.
POONCH: A symposium was organised in Govt. Degree College Poonch to celebrate Teachers Day. The topic of the symposium was ‘Use of ICT in Education and Quality concerns in Higher Education sector’. The programme was presided over by Prof. M.H Shah, Coordinator, IQAC and Prof. G.L Sharma, former Principal of the college was the Chief Guest. About 13 students participated in the symposium. Saiqa Sharief Khan student of Semester- V stood first whereas, Manik Sharma student of Sem-III and Wajida Sayeda student of Semester-1st secured second and third position respectively. Dr. Farooq Ahmed, Dr. Wajahat Hussain Jafri and Prof. Mohd Alyas were judges in the programme. The programme was introduced by Prof. Fateh Mohd Abbasi, Staff Secretary of the College and the proceedings were conducted by Saiqa Sharief Khan. Vote of thanks was extended by Prof. Wajahat Hussain Jafri, HoD English.
KATHUA: Students of Govt. Degree College for Women Kathua celebrated Teachers Day with great enthusiasm and fervour. On this occasion students honoured their teachers by presenting mementos to them and appreciated the role of teachers in shaping their future. Speaking on the occasion Principal, Dr. Satinder Singh threw light on the life and teachings Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and also shared his experiences of teaching with the students. Other teachers who shared their views include Prof.Umesh Chander Kailoo, Prof. Rakesh Singh, Prof Ravi, Prof. Madhvi Prashar, Prof. Yash Paul Sharma and Prof. Amita Dua.
Meanwhile, Teachers Day was celebrated at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Budhi ( Kathua). An inter-house competition was also held on the topic Teachers Day in which four participants of different houses expressed their views. Vice- Principal S.D Singh and Veena Sharma Sr. lecturer also spoke on the life history of Dr. S.Radhakrishnan and encouraged students to follow his teachings.
Principal Naresh Sharma in his address elaborated the role of teacher as nation builder and highlighted the responsibilities of teachers to make the students as good citizens. He honoured Ravikant Padha teacher of the school who was recently appreciated by RTO Kathua for his special lecture on Road Safety. Satish Chandel Sr. Lecturer Physics guided the students and helped them whole heartly and provided moral support to them for organising such a grand show.
PG Department of Geography of Govt. Degree College Kathua celebrated Teachers Day to honour their teachers and thanked them for being the guiding light in their lives. Students organised cultural programmes and celebrated the event with mirth and gusto.
Principal of the College Dr. Nater Singh who was the Chief Guest on this occasion appreciated the role of the students for celebrating this day.
Teachers Day was celebrated in both the wings of Spring Dales with great fun and enthusiasm The programme was presided over by Usha Gupta and Prof.R.K Gupta .
Students of class 11th threw a surprise celebration. Icing on the cake moment was the presentation made by Priyanka of class 11th which was applauded by all. Shagun and Kanan of class 11th presented a beautiful dance and were awarded with a cash prize of Rs.250 each. Sanjna compered the show.
UDHAMPUR: Shivalik College of Education and Happy Model Higher Secondary School celebrated the Teachers Day with great zeal and zest. In this regard, College organised a symposium wherein students spoke at length and expressed their views. Speaking on the occasion Dr Vikram Gulati highlight the importance aspects.
Students of Govt. Hr Sec. School Keya in Ramnagar organised an impressive programme in the school. Programme was inaugurated by Principal of the School and senior lecture of Pol. Sec. Pankaj Sharma thereafter students performed the role of teachers and delivered lectures in the class room whole day.
While students of GHSS Salmerhi also celebrated Teachers Day with great fun where programme was inaugurated by Principal Neeru Bala. Students of Govt. Hr Sec. School Girl Udhampur also organised an impressive programme in school.
SAMBA: The Teachers Day was celebrated in the Fauji Public School with great spirit and was uniquely a show of the children, by the children for their teachers. Sohani Jamwal and and Preeti Bhagat were the main organisers. Students acting as children made the event hilarious. The day started with the children giving talks on the importance of the day and highlighted the life of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishan, the second President of our country. Children also organised some party games and entertained their teachers. There was an air of gaiety and happiness. The Director of the School, Col Dr Virendra K Sahi, was the Chief Guest at the occasion while Col Shan Lal Dogra was the Guest of Honour. The event ended by a small motivating talk by the director.
