This refers to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Japan. Modi’s initiative is a great opportunity for both India and Japan to inject greater momentum into their economic partnership, which has not realised its full potential.
If India gains economically from its relationship with Japan, then an economically resurgent India will be of great strategic importance to Asia and to the world. To add to this, both India and Japan have long-standing disputes with China. Hence, a fruitful India-Japan partnership would help both countries as they will not then get bullied by China.
