Well done, Mandeep Kaur for winning the junior world boxing championship at Taipei. Interestingly, residents of Chakkar village pooled money for her training, infrastructure and travel. Not a single penny was received from the government. The villagers too deserve appreciation and applause for their unique effort and seting an example. They only wish for the recognition of awards on the Haryana pattern. The state government’s announcement of just Rs 1 lakh for Mandeep has exposed its sports policy.
