REASI: Vishwakarma Day was celebrated with traditional fervour, enthusiasm and people marked Vishwakarma Pooja like every year at Katra. The proceedings started with Vishwakarma pooja, Havan followed by a rally which was organized by Mazdoor Dastkar Union (MDU), here today.
Mass gathering including community brethren and followers of the lord participated from having blessing of Bhagwan Vishwakarma on this pious day.
Minister of State for Finance, Information Technology, Planning, Parliamentary Affairs, Tribal Affairs, Labour and Employment Ajay Nanda was Chief Guest on the occasion.
Meantime, a rally was also taken-out which was started from Asia Chowk Kundrorian and culminated at Natali Katra.
Among others ASP Katra Sumir Kotwal, SDM Katra Neelam Khajuria, Tehsildar Katra Mohit Raina, SDPO Dr. Ashok Sharma, and large numbers of local people were present on the occasion.
BASOHLI: Govt. ITI Basohli celebrated Vishwakarma Day under the supervision of Naresh Singh Superintendent ITI Basohli .The staff and students of the Institute worshiped Lord Vishwakarma by performing the Puja of tools, equipments and machines used for Training programme in ITI.
KATHUA: To commemorate the 32nd death anniversary of first women Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi, Congress activists under the leadership of District Congress Committee President Former MLC Subash Gupta organised function, here on Monday.
On this occasion, most of the senior leaders as well the activists of the party shower their heartiest tributes by flowering before the picture of iron-lady Smt. Gandhi.
Municipal Council Ex-President Naresh Sharma, Yugal Kishore Bali, Aradhana Andotra, Nariender Khajuria, Pankaj Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Murari Lal, Mulkh Raj Sharma, Dr Sharat Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Bal Krishan, Parvesh Sharma, Lucky Rathore, Sachin Sharma, Brij Mohan and dozens of other activists were present on the occasion.
RAJOURI: The Vishwakarma Day was celebrated with traditional fervor and enthusiasm in a programme held in Rajouri town in which hundreds of technical workers from different walks of life participated.
On the eve of festive occasion Vishwakarma day, BJYM District President Raja Rattan Singh gifted 15 mobile phones to the mechanics of the community ,especially those who have good technical skills and also become a source of inspiration for the youth.
MLC Vibodh Gupta who was Chief Guest on the occasion lauded the works of the mechanics and appreciated the mechanics awarded on the event.
Gupta assured the people that he will project the genuine demand for the community before the Chief Minister for declaring holiday on Vishwakarma day as Gazette holiday.
Prominent who were present on the occasion include Vacky Dutta,Shyam Sapotra,Badri Nath,Abdul Rashid, Sahil Gupta, Shubam Chibber and Suriender Singh.
UDHAMPUR: Workers of Vishavkarma Committee took out a Shoba Yatra in Udhampur to celebrate the day. Shoba Yatra commenced from Vishv Karma temple which passed through National highway, Domail Chowk, Slathia Chowk, Venus Chowk, Sallain Talab, Chabutra Bazaar, Main Bazaar, Gole Market, Indra Chowk, Town hall Chowk finally culminated back to temple. In Shoba Yatra workers carrying placards and banners depicting the images of Visav Karma Guru were displayed and devotees were chanting the Bajan Kirtan. In order to celebrate the day all business communities related to skilled and technical nature works were remained closed and performed Tool Puja as well. Thereafter a Yagya Havan was organised in the premises of temple. Speaking on the occasion district president Sham Lal Manhas and Viajy Kumar Manhas delivered goods and also up lauded the role of the God Vishav karma known as father of all skills. Later a Vishal Bhandra was organised by the Committee where large number of workers and public in general took Prashad and blessings of the Bhagwan Vishavkarma.
