SAMBA: Vijaypur Zone won the inter-zonal district level under-17 boys’ football tournament held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Ground, Kehli Mandi, here on Tuesday.
In the final, Vijaypur Zone trounced Purmandal Zone by a solitary goal. The only goal came through a penalty kick taken by Adhiraj Slathia.
In all, four teams
took part in this competition held on knock-out basis. Earlier, the event was declared open by District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Subash Chander Bhardwaj. Among others present were Rakesh Verma, B.D Sharma, Vijay Singh Slathia, Pardeep Singh and Raghubir Singh (all Zonal Physical Education Officers).
Earlier, the two-day competition was officiated by the technical panel comprising Anirudh Singh Slathia, Ravi Singh, Naresh Sharma, Subash Sharma, Zorawar Singh Sambyal, Bhupinder Singh, Vivek Slathia, Rohit Slathia, Rajni Jamwal, Suman Bala and Bhawna Koul.
