BATOTE: Police on Thursday arrested two persons and recovered 15 kg poppy straw from their possession at Batote.
According to a report, a police team headed by SHO Batote Inspector Rakesh Bomba established a Naka at Nashri to check the vehicles coming from Srinagar to Jammu. During Naka, a TATA Sumo (JK05B-0883) on its way from Srinagar side towards Jammu was stopped for checking.
During checking of the vehicle, about 15 Kg. of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of two persons Namely Manzoor Ahmed son of Mohd Abdullah resident of Dhamal Hangipura Kulgam and Sonam Goyal son of Baldev Goyal resident of Moga Punjab. Both the persons were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 17/2017 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered against them at Police Station Batote.
