JAMMU: Police on Sunday arrested three persons from Shastri Nagar area and recovered heroin-like substance from their possession. During a surprise checking, police intercepted a car (PB10FS/5895) and during the search seized 300 grams of heroin-like substance, a police officer said.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No.243/2016 under Sections 8, 21 and 22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and further investigation is going on to ascertain the source and destination of this consignment.
This seizure was the part of special drive against drugs under operation ‘Sanjeevani’ launched by Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu. The whole operation was supervised by SHO Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Bishnesh Kumar and assisted by Sub Inspector Balram Sharma under the close supervision of Sachin Gupta, SDPO City South under the directions of SP City South, Shahzad Ahmed Salaria.
