UDHAMPUR: Police on Saturday worked out two burglary cases under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur and arrested three burglars with the recovery of stolen gold, cash and other household domestic items amounting to Rs. 1,55,110.
As per the details, based on the frequent incidents of theft cases especially in Udhampur town, special police teams were constituted at police station level and were ordered to work out all such cases at the earliest so that a check could be maintained on such theft/burglary incidents.
In one such case on 11th January 2017, a written complaint was lodged by one Amit Raj Choudhary son of Dhram Chand Choudhary resident of Subash Nagar Udhampur, Tehsil and District Udhampur in connection with commission of theft by some unknown accused persons in his house. In this regard, an FIR No. 22/2017 under section 457/380/RPC was registered in Police Station Udhampur and a team of police officers/officials led by SI Ved Parkash was deputed to workout the case at the earliest.
Accordingly, a police party of Police Station Udhampur conducted raids in various suspicious areas and questioned number of suspects. During the course of investigation, police party zeroed two suspects namely Jamat Ali son of Sain Mohd. Resident of Panthal Reasi and Mohd. Iqbal son of Mohd. Shafi resident of Chakhar, Udhampur, who were subjected to thorough questioning. While interrogation, the suspects broke down and confessed the commission of burglary. On the disclosure of these suspects, police recovered all of the household items including one gold chain, cash to the tune of Rs. 4,060 and other house hold domestic items like 27 ladies suits, 13 gents shirts, one pent coat etc. in all amounting to about Rs. 1,55,110. Further investigation of the case is going on as the police is working on the involvement of these burglars in some other cases as well.
In yet another case, a written complaint was lodged by one Jagdish Kumar son of Jameet Ram resident of Laddan, Tehsil and District Udhampur on 5th January 2017 regarding burglary in his shop in Laddan, Udhampur by some unknown accused persons. On this, a case vide FIR No. 15/2017 under section 457/380/RPC was registered in police station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police party arrested one suspect namely Khurshid Ahmed son of Abdul Karim resident of Bain Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur, who confessed the commission of burglary. Accordingly recoveries were made on his disclosure whose value is yet to be ascertained. The case is under investigation as the police team is in the process of working out the involvement of some more accused persons in the case.
