JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Association on Thursday named the State team for the upcoming 61st Men Free Style, Greco Roman Style and 19th Female Senior National Championships to be held at Nandni Nagar Sports Complex, Nawab Ganj, Gonda in Uttar Pradesh from 23rd to 25th October.
The team proceeded for the venue on Thursday itself. Prior to the final selection of the State team, the selected probables underwent a coaching camp that took place at Bajrangi Akhara here under the guidance of qualified coaches.
The Team: Gourav Kumar (57 kg), Sukhvinder Singh (61 kg), Bhushan Mehra (65 kg), Munir Ahmed (70 kg), Pankaj Kumar (74 kg), Bahadur Khan (86 kg), Jatinder Singh (97 kg), Salinder Singh (125 kg), Bachan Singh (59 kg), Rashid Ali (66 kg), Ranjit Singh (71 kg), Lovkesh (75 kg), Narinder Singh (80 kg), Ajay Bharti (85 kg), Javed Khan (98 kg), Ashiq Ahmed (130 kg).
The final selected team was flagged off by Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ashok Khajuria amidst best wishes for the competition ahead. Speaking to the wrestlers, Khajuria appreciated the wrestling association for the consistency in promoting the game in the state.
Among others present were President Bajrangi Akhara, Pradeep Sharma, General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Vaid, Swarn Lal, Dheeraj Sharma, Raju Sharma, Mohd Sadiq, Raj Kumar, Rattan Lal and Sahil Sharma (Coach).
