JAMMU: The S&O XI and Purchase Circle XI among five teams won their respective matches to strengthen their position in the ongoing PDD Premier League 2017 at Green Fields ground, here on Saturday.
In the first match, S&O defeated EDT by a big margin of 78 runs.
Earlier, batting first, S&O made 146 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
Manoj played brilliant innings of 70 runs coming off 52 deliveries while Ankush and Iqbal added 18 runs each. From EDT, Bunty and Aman shared two wickets each.
Later, EDT could not chase the total and bowled out cheaply for 68 runs in 17.4 overs. Amit and Bunty were main scorers with 24 and 13 runs in their respective accounts.
Iqbal emerged as most successful bowler from S&O with three wickets while Ajeet Singh took two.
In other scheduled match, Purchase Circle trounced EM&RE Division-II by 42 runs. Purhase Circle batting first set a target of 176 runs losing seven wickets. Vikas Sangra played superb innings of 41-ball 68, followed by Sumit Puri (17) and Hiteshwar (12) on the scorecard. Tiku and Gurdeep took two wickets each from EM&RE.
In reply, EM&RE could make 133 runs in 16 overs losing all their wickets, courtesy four wickets haul from Sumit Puri. Munish Chib (68 off 35) and Tinku (21) played well. Ritnesh and Arun shared two wickets each.
Meanwhile, the six participating teams have been divided into two groups of A and B.
Group-A has EM&RE Chief Office, EM&RE Division-I Parade, S&O and the group-B comprised of EM&RE-II Gandhi Nagar, Purchase Circle and Comm Survey and PD.
