Rifle body felicitates budding shooter Kavya

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association today felicitated upcoming shooter, Kavya Kochhar in a function held on the sidelines of the opening function of opening ceremony of veteran badminton league at Indoor Hall of District Police Lines (DPL), here.
Kavya was honoured by Chairperson of Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), Bharti Vaid in the presence of Rupinder Kour and Commandant General HG/CD and SDRF J&K, Dilbag Singh. Among others present were Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, V S Pathania, Samar Dev Singh, Sharat Chander Singh and Rajesh Virdhi (shooting coach).
Kayva has won three individual medals, including a gold each in .177 Air Pistol in senior women category and Youth Women category as also a bronze in the same event in Junior age group in the 27th All India GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship held in Mumbai recently.
Meanwhile, the Association also flagged off a three-member State shooting team for the 21st All India Kumar Surendra Singh Inter-School Shooting Championship scheduled to be held at Sunbean Academy Varanasi from October 2 to 8, 2017.
The team comprised Kavya Kochhar (.177 Air Pistol Junior category), Sainath Jogdand (.177 Air Rifle Sub-Junior men) and Abhijay Singh Charak (.177 Air Rifle Sub Junioe Men).
The team was given a send off by Commandant General of HG/CD, Dilbag Singh and other office bearers of the J&K Rifle Association.
