Seminar on Rashtarya Ekta Diwas conducted

JAMMU: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Valabhbhai Patel, the NSS Units of GGM Science College, Jammu, on Saturday organized a seminar on the life and contributions of Sardar Valabh Bhai Patel in the integration of various principalities and building of nation as a unit.
Prof. Satinder Singh, Nodal Principal Jammu Division Colleges was the Chief Guest.
On the eve of Rashtarya Ekta Diwas, the speakers threw light on the remarkable achievements and accumenship of Sardar Patel in combining all the splinter states by motivating the public opinion about the strength of union ship of the country.
The programme started with the lightening of lamp.
Dr. Rajinder Singh, NSS Programme Officer presented welcomed addressing and highlighted the activities of NSS units.
Dr. Satinder Singh advised volunteers to learn from the life of Sardar Valabh Bhai Patel for his selfless service to the nation as he has participated in various Satya Grahs and Andolans initiated by Mahatma Gandhi. He also elaborated about the greatest social invention of vote and asked students to strength the Union of India by participating in the democratic process.
Monika Bhau, Richa Abrol and Diksha Mahajan were adjudged first, second and third respectively in the competition.
Dr. Alpana Vohra, Dr. Upasna Andotra and Prof. Shradha Abrol were the judges of the event. The prizes were distributed among the winners by the Chief Guest.
Vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Ashok Kumar, HoD, Chemistry.
Later, NSS volunteers and NCC cadets along with faculty members took Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge in the oath ceremony.
Among others present in the seminar were Prof. Pinky Manhas, Prof. Anjana Sharma both ANO’s of the College, Prof. Baldev Sharma, Prof. Jagjeet Singh, Dr. Vinod Bakshi.
