Seminar on anti-drug awareness conducted

JAMMU: In alignment with their resolve of taking concerted steps towards combating the menace of ubiquitous drug abuse, Fatima Convent High School, Bishnah organized an Anti-Drug Awareness seminar in the school premises on Thursday. The event was oragnised to make children aware about the ramifications of drug addiction not only on the health of individuals but overall impact on the society.
The event was graced by the valued presence of Priyanka Kumari, DySP, Jammu and Pritpal Singh, SHO Bishnah. The dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome by Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. T. S. Jacob which was followed by the inauguration of the thought-provoking seminar.
The seminar was convened by Priyanka Kumari under the aegis of the Principal Rev. Fr. T.S Jacob.
Kumari talked about the perils of drug abuse and threw spotlight on the grave consequences of drug addiction on the individual, family and the society at large. She also explained the manner in which narcotic terrorism is killing country’s youth and urged upon all the stakeholders to help in discouraging this menace by spreading awareness about the same.
Speaking on the occasion, Jacob said that the problem of drug addiction is required to be addressed very seriously and effectively and all the stakeholders need to contribute their efforts in this regard. He exhorted students to take the pledge to say No to Drugs and urged the society to work in unison to uproot this evil from the society thereby ensuring a downright drug de-addiction at the grass-root levels.
