Samoon takes stock of fertiliser availability for Rabi season

SRINAGAR: The fertiliser companies operating in Kashmir Division are making 1,250 MTs of Urea, 2,000 MTs of DAP, and 600 MTs of MOP available to the farmers in Kashmir Division during the current Rabi season. This was disclosed at a meeting held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon.
Among others Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Agriculture Jammu, Director Law Enforcement, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Kashmir and representatives of various fertiliser companies viz, NFL, Chambal, TATA, IPL attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that during Kharif season the companies supplied 55,184 MTs of Urea, 24,218 MTs of DAP and 2,757 MTs of MOP to the farmers in Kashmir Division.
Samoon stressed upon the fertiliser companies to ensure that fertilizers remain available for the farmers. He also directed the companies to desist from self transportation of fertilisers to ensure fertilizers reach all destinations as per requirement.
