Properties of drug dealers worth Rs 97 lakhs seized

Jammu: In a first ever crackdown on properties of drug dealers in District Samba, Deputy Commissioner Samba and SSP Samba orchestrated a meticulously planned operation resulting in the confiscation of a single-storey residential property valued at approximately Rs. 15 lakhs in Rakh Barotian area in Vijaypur. This property belonged to the notorious drug dealer Shamas Din, alias Bacchu, son of Maskeen Ali, hailing from Rakh Barotian tehsil Vijaypur in district Samba.
Another property, a residential house worth Rs 32 lakhs, belonging to notorious drug peddler Masoom Ali alias Kala, son of Dulla, resident of Rakh Barotian Teh Vijaypur District Samba has also been seized.
The administration, bolstered by the unwavering support of law enforcement agencies, executed this operation under sections 68-E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, in connection with FIRs that have been registered at Police Station Vijaypur respectively .
The residential properties identified as ill-gotten gains acquired through illicit drug trafficking, were uncovered during thorough investigation and inquiry conducted by the vigilant officers of Police Station Vijaypur and established backward linkage of the properties of the accused with the drug peddling.
As part of the campaign, a strong message has been sent to curb the activities of drug peddlers by attaching the property of a notorious drug peddler. This action underscores the administration’s firm resolve to tackle drug-related issues and ensure the safety and well-being of the community, a handout stated.
District Police Jammu orchestrated a meticulously planned operation resulting in the freezing/ seizure of property (residential house) of approximately Rs 50 lakhs at Rah Salyote Tehsil Chowki-Choura District Jammu . This property belonged to the notorious drug dealer Rohit Dutta, son of Hoshiar Chand, resident of Rah Salyote.
District Police Jammu executed this operation under sections 68-E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, dealing with provisions against accused involved in drug peddling. The mandate has been provided for accused detained under PITNDPS ACT also.
The drug peddler Rohit Duta, son of Hoshiar Chand, resident of Rah Salyote is presently detained under PITNDPS Act by the Akhnoor Police in a warrant issued by Divisional Commissioner Jammu and is lodged in District Jail Kathua.
There are many cases against the said accused including several serious cases of Drug Peddling.
The property, identified as proceeds of narcotic gains/acquired through illicit drug trafficking, was uncovered during thorough investigation and inquiry conducted by the Police team of Akhnoor Subdivision with the help of revenue authorities. This operation serves as a stern reminder of the unwavering commitment of the District police Jammu to eradicate the drug menace from Jammu District. The property attachment operation was conducted by the team headed SDPO Akhnoor,SHO Akhnoor , Naib-Tehsildar Rah Salyote under supervision of SP Rural in presence of prominent citizens of the area.
