JAMMU: Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J and K Jammu Mohammad Yaseen Kichloo, SSP felicitated J and K Police Athletic Team and its Coaches Inspector Sharat Singh and Sgct Tahir Ahmad on Tuesday at Armed Police Headquarters, here for winning 17 medals including three gold, seven silver and four bronze in Second Senior J and K State Athletic Championship. The event was organised by J and K Athletic Association at MA Stadium Jammu on 28th and 29th December 2016.
Kichloo presented Certificates of Merit to the athletes of JKP team and congratulated them for their excellent performance in the event. He asked them to work hard and practice regularly to show better performance in future.
The J and K Police athletic team comprising seven athletes including one women athlete and two coaches participated in the said championship. Among the participants, athlete Constable Jai Kumar secured first position in 100 meter and long jump events and second position in 4 x 400 meter relay winning gold each in 100 meter/ long jump event and silver in 4 x 400 meter relay. Athlete Constable Shabir Kumar IRP-10th Bn. secured third position in 200 meter event and won bronze medal.
Athlete Constable Danish Yousf IRP-18th Bn. secured second positions in 400 meter and 4 x 400 meter relay events and won silver medals in both events.
Athlete Follower Imtiyaz Ahmad F-41/IRP-10th Bn. secured 3rd position in 800 meter, 2nd Position in Discuss Throw and 2nd position in 4 x 400 meter relay event winning bronze in 800 meter event and silver medals each in Discuss Throw and 4 x 400 meter relay events.
Follower Chandan Singh F-47/IR-10th Bn. secured 2nd position in Long Jump, 3rd position in Shot-put and won silver and bronze medals in these events respectively.
Constable Lovejit Singh 760/IRP-10th Bn. secured 2nd position in 4 x 400 meter relay event and won silver medal in the said event
Women Constable Anju Bala 762/IR-15th Bn. secured 1st and 3rd position in Shot-put and long jump winning gold and bronze medal in these events respectively.
The felicitation ceremony held in the office chamber of Staff Officer was among others attended by DySP Pers. APHQ Junaid Wali, DySP Sports APHQ Jigmet Lhundup and Administrative Officer APHQ J&K Farooq Ahmad DySP.
