JAMMU: The daily rated, ITI trained and Community Participation (CP) workers of PHE Department, who are on strike for the last 54 days, on Saturday held a strong protest at Exhibition Ground near Press Club. A large number of workers of the department under the banner of All J&K PHE ITI Trained and CP Workers Association, Jammu province, led by Tanveer Hussain held protest against the Government for its failure to resolve their pending issues. They demanded regularization, release of the wages of workers, clearance of pending land cases and wages of CP workers and need base workers.
They were shouting slogans against senior officers of the department. While addressing workers Tanveer Hussain alleged that despite repeated representations, protests and Dharnas, the higher authorities in the department have failed to fulfill the demands of the workers. The workers are being forced by the Government to intensify their agitation.
