JAMMU: Casual workers of the Power Development Department (PDD), who are on continues Kaam Chhora Hartal for the last 65 days, on Tuesday staged a protest here demanding release of pending salaries. Under the banner of the J&K Casual Labourers Union, the protesters gathered at Office of Chief Engineer EM and RE Wing, here and raised slogans against the government.
A protester alleged that the government had failed to meet their demands despite staging several rounds of protests in the past. They also claimed that the government had not released their salaries for the past many months.
The protesters were addressed by State President of the Union, Akhil Sharma, Jammu Province President Shesh Kumar, Vice President Jammu Province Sham Sharma and General Secretary Sanjeev.
