Pak firing victims: Distt Judge Kathua forms core committee for relief distribution

JAMMU: In order to ensure timely distribution of relief to the victims of Pakistan firing on the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) the Principal Sessions Judge Kathua Vinod Chatterji Koul has constituted a core committee.
The constitution of the core committee is in compliance to the directions of Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice of J and K High Court and Patron-in-Chief of J&K State Legal Services Authority and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Executive Chairman, J&K State Legal Services Authority, Committee Core Groups for the distribution of relief victims of firing on LoC/IB in terms of Section 12(e) of the JK SLSA Act, 1997, to ensure immediate help of Government and Non-Government Agencies, to victims with the different Departments of the Government and NGOs for brining immediate relief to the victims, to supervise the distribution of relief material to victims, to supervise the construction of temporary shelters for transporting the victims to safer places, to supervise the re-union of the families, to supervise the health and care for sanitation of the victims and prevention of spreading of epidemic amongst inhabitants of these areas, to supervise the need of women and children, to ensure availability of food, medicines and drinking water to disaster victims, to supervise the construction of damaged dwelling houses, to supervise the restoration of cattle and chattel, etc.
A temporary Legal Core and Support Center is also established at Londi, for providing assistance and help to the needy victims. In the said Legal Core and Support Center, following Retainer Lawyers and PLVs shall provide required assistance to the victims.
