REASI: Police on Thursday arrested a habitual bootlegger and recovered 37 pouches of liquor from his possession.
According to a report, acting on a specific information, a police team of Police Station Reasi headed by Inspector Kuldeep Krishan, SHO Police Station Reasi laid a special Naka at Ashoka Chowk Reasi and during checking, police recovered 37 pouches of J and K Excise Liquor from the possession of Gouri alias Sultan son of Bishan Singh resident of Panchari Tehsil Panchari district Udhampur at present Charan Paduka Katra who was transporting the illegal liquor to holy town Katra for sale. The accused person was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 118/2016 under section 48-A Excise Act, was registered at Police Station Reasi. The accused person is a habitual offender and seven cases pertaining to Excise Act are previously registered against him at Police Station Katra and one case vide FIR No.62/2015 under section 48-A Excise Act was also registered against him at Police Station Reasi.
