JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) through a notification clarified on Wednesday that there is no change in KAS exams scheduled for 19th March 2017.
The JKPSC notification issued said that, “It is hereby notified for the information of aspirants of combined competitive (Preliminary)  examination 2016 that the said exam shall be conducted as per schedule i.e, on 19th March 2017 in two sessions and no change whatsoever would be there”.
It is pertinent to mention here that protests were being held demanding the change in schedule as the dates were clashing with dates of Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exams. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Simrandeep Singh convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the JKPSC combined competitive (Preliminary) Examination, to be held on 19th March in 46 centres across district in which 24000 candidates are appearing.
During the meeting, the DC directed the Police to ensure that adequate security arrangements are made at the centres alongwith deployment of female and male police guards for frisking of the candidates. He further directed the magistrates on duty to ensure strict observance of section 144 up to 200 metres from the entrance of the centres.
The DC also directed the PDD department to ensure that electricity supply is maintained at centres during the examination.
