MJR-47 to observe Oct 22 as Martyrs Day

JAMMU: Movement for Justice for Refugees of 1947 (MJR-47) from PoK has decided to observe 22nd October as Martyrs Day in memory of all those who laid down their lives in the tribal raid of 1947 by Pakistan on State to annex Jammu and Kashmir and make it part of Pakistan.
It was decided that as per past practice this year also special prayers will be organised in all the religious places like Gurdwaras and temples on this day so that, we the offshoots of these martyrs, pay our respectful homage to more than 45,000 people who got killed in this nefarious design of Pakistan but was not allowed to succeed.
Members also expressed their anguish and despair that despite lapse of almost seven decades, we are still living with tag of refugees (DPs) and most of them are still living in refugees camps which were established way back in 1950. Governments of time have not done any justice to rehabilitate these DPs families which has not settled permanently. The meeting concluded after taking decision that as per past practice a special annual programme will be organised any time in Oct-Nov, 2016 to pay tributes to martyrs as also to organise all the DPs for getting justice being delayed or denied so far.
Prominent people who participated in the meeting include Dr Padam Dev Ramin, Comrade Om Par-kash, Bodh Raj Sharma, Krishan Lal Sudan, Harjit Singh, Raj Kumar, Suchwant Singh, Dalip Singh, Jaswant Singh and Raghbir Singh.
