Leh Sarpanchs decide to donate month’s pay to support Jora

LEH: Sarpanchs of Leh Assembly segment have decided to donate one month’s salary for accelerating election campaign in favour of Nawang Rigzin Jora.
This was decided in a meeting held on Thursday in Buddha Garden Choglamsar, Leh. Meeting also asked the political parties and individuals to avoid the use of alcohol and money during election campaigning for making the election process transparent and peaceful.
Around 60 Sarpanchs of Leh excluding Nurba which is a separate constituency were present in the meeting. They also passed a resolution to avoid use of alcohol and money during the election campaign and submitted the copies of resolution to the Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police and other religious organisations including Ladakh Buddhist Association, Ladakh Gonpa Association, Muslim Coordination Committee Leh and Ladakh Christian committee to support them.
The Sarpanchs also formed a committee and decided to do campaign in all the regions of Leh to create awareness among the masses regarding free and fair election and to make them understand the importance of vote.
