JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Boxing Association shall be holding UT level championship at Boxing Rings of J&K Police at Gulshan Grounds Sports Complex, here from December 26.
“The three-day event belongs to the year 2019-20 which could not be held due to Covid-19 pandemic in March last. Now, the same shall be held from December 26. The competition shall be held in Sub-Junior, Youth and Elite group in collaboration with J&K Police under the aegis of Boxing Federation of India and J&K Olympic Association while sponsored by J&K Sports Council,” informed General Secretary of the Association, Rajan Sharma.
All the interested boxers have been advised to contact senior boxing coach, Anil Wadhera (7006031537, 9419145390) and must possess the COVID-19 negative certificate duly issued by competent authority for participation.
“Around 200 boxers from all over the J&K representing districts of Jammu, Srinagar, Baramula, Poonch, Udhampur, Rajouri, Budgam and Kathua are expected to take part in this championship,” disclosed Rajan.
