KATHUA: Inter-school District Level Tournaments for the disciplines of hockey, football and handball for under-14 and 17 years boys and girls being organised Department of Youth Services and Sports got underway at different venues of Kathua District.
The tournament is organising under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kathua Sunil Kumar.
In opening under-17 hockey match organized under the convener-ship of ZPEO Sukesh Kumar at Sports Stadium Hiranagar, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Hiranagar outplayed Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar by 2-1 goals.
In the final of under-17 Handball being organized under the convenorship of Kuldeep Singh PEM at St. Xavier Convent School Hatli Morh, RSJN Kathua trounced St. Xavier Convent School Kathua by 3 goals. Similarly, under-14 title was lifted by boys of Mount Litra HSS Kathua defeating RSJN Kathua by two goals.
Today’s matches were officiated by Avnesh Kumar, Sartaz Singh, Sanjeev Sambyal, Rakesh Kumar Raju and Parveen Singh. Dharminder Singh, Sanjeev Sunny, Rajeev Mehta, Darshan Kumar, were also present on the occasion.
