SAMBA: District Jammu dominated the opening day by winning all matches of Inter District Division Level basketball Tournament, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports, Samba at Kristu Jyoti Convent School, on Thursday. The tournament is being held under the guidance of Joint Director General DYSSO, Madan Lal and was inaugurated by Chief Guest, DYSSO Samba, Subash Chander Bhardwaj in the presence of Guest of Honour, Sister Archana, Principal of the host School.
A total of 162 students are participating in the tournament.
The dignitaries present on the opening ceremony were Rakesh Verma, Vijay Singh Slathia, Pardeep Singh and Raghubir Singh, all Zonal Physical Education Officers.
The matches were officiated by Rajesh Sambyal, Anirudh Singh Slathia, Rekha Sambyal, Ravi Singh, Chander Parkash Sharma, Suman Raj Singh, Dhanraj Singh, Vishal Bharti, Manjeet Singh Sambyal, Rajesh Bandral, Sanjay Jamwal, Kuldeep Singh, Ranbir Singh, Mousami Verma, vaneet Pangotra, Vinay Salaria, Kewal Krishan Sharma, Kranti Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Zorawar Singh Sambyal and Roopa Sambyal.
Result BOYS: U/14: Jammu defeated Udhampur District by 10-4; U/17: Jammu outplayed Kathua District by 14-13; and U/19: district Jammu trounced Udhampur district by 18-02.
