Initiation ceremony for MBA-IB students organised

JAMMU: The International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR AND HRM), University of Jammu, Jammu on Friday organised ‘Initiation Ceremony’ for the newly recruited batch of MBA-International Business (MBA-IB) students, Session 2016-18.
Professor R.D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion, Raj K. Nehru, Director, HARTRON, Governing Council Member for Global Village Foundation and NASSCOM Sector Skills Council and Founder Member, UTSAV Foundation was the invited corporate guest.
Prof R.D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, during his address, referred to the students as the brand ambassadors of the University and reflected that it is extremely important for the students to inculcate discipline, hard work, professionalism and moral values to be successful in all quarters of life.
Raj K Nehru, delivered an inspirational talk on ‘Leadership Differentiator: How India Inspires the World’. He deliberated upon the leadership lessons that draw upon the institutionalized system of pluralism practiced in our nation.
Quoting several examples from the corporate world and sharing practical experiences, Nehru encouraged the students to adopt an integrated approach for self development. Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu; Prof Jigar Mohammad, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu and Prof. Satnam Kour, Dean Students Welfare also spoke on the occasion.
Further, the Initiation Ceremony also marked the culmination of the week-long celebrations of the Independence Festival at ICccR and HRM under the theme ‘Azadi 70- Yaad Karo Kurbani’ declared by the Government of India (MHRD). This included the series of events such as the visit of the students and faculty of ICccR & HRM to Bal Gran, Channi Rama and Old Age Home, Ambphalla.
Celebrating the spirit of Independence, a card making competition was organized at Bal Gran, Channi Rama. As a gesture, all the cards prepared by the Bal Gran children and students shall be posted to the Jawans at border stations subsequently. The students and faculty at ICccR & HRM also visited the Old Age Home, Ambphalla and interacted with the senior citizens residing therein and discussed the phases of Independence struggle as witnessed by them. Among those who attended the programme included senior faculty members and the administrative staff of University of Jammu. Dr. Pallvi Arora coordinated the entire function, while the senior batch of MBA (IB) students acted as the stage host.
