SRINAGAR: Commissioner-Secretary Agriculture Production Department M.A Bukhari on Monday reviewed the implementation of National Mission on Saffron with the officers involved with the Mission.
It was impressed upon the officers involved with this prestigious mission to work in close co-ordination with all agencies and farmers so as to achieve 100 per cent target of this project as 2016 is the last year of the Sanctioned project.
Chief Engineer Mechanical Engineering Division was directed to execute the work of laying of pipes under sprinkle irrigation system for Saffron crop during the current season by working in double shifts and increasing manpower to achieve the set target.
The Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama and Senior Superintendent of Police Pulwama were instructed by the Commissioner Secretary to stop the Conversion of Saffron Land into residential Colonies/Business establishments. It was also decided that the violators will be dealt under section 133 of land revenue act. It was also instructed by the Commissioner Secretary that FIR’sshould be lodged against those who damage and destroy the public property and the Irrigation Infrastructure being laid under the mission.
