LAKHANPUR: Drugs and Food Control Organisation along with Commercial Tax Department seised a big consignment of intoxicants from a truck bearing No.JK02P-4221 at Lakhanpur Toll Post.
During checking large qty of intoxicant syrup worth Rs 60,000 namely Rexcof, was found in the truck which was seized on Form 16 under the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetic Act 1940 and Rules. All the legal procedure were carried out in the presence of driver of the truck namely Fayez Ahmed Ittoo son of Ghulam Quadir Ittoo resident of Aarbal ,Teh. Banihal Distt Ramban.
Amit Mahajan, Drugs Inspector has initiated the detailed investigation under relevant provisions of the Act and the particulars of the parties /persons responsible for supplying these intoxicants are likely to surface in due course of time.
Assistant Drugs Controller ,Samba/Kathua , Munish Gupta is personally monitoring the progress of the investigation. Lotika Khajuria; Deputy Controller, Drugs and Food Control Organisation, Jammu has warned the nefarious elements involved in drug mafia to desist from such acts failing which they should be ready for harsh regulatory action.
