JAMMU: RTI Activist, Balvinder Singh said that the State Government has thrown transfer policy to winds in Higher Education Department.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Singh stated that though the Higher Education Department claims to have formulated a transfer policy but the rules have been thrown to winds by politically and bureaucratic connected ones because that is the only qualification one should have now in addition of sycophancy.
As per the RTI reply, he said, one Assistant Professor namely Sudha Gupta has broken all the records of maximum stay by staying 33 years in Government College for Woman (GCW), Gandhi Nagar while Prof. Aruna Dubey stood second with 29 years of stay in GCW Parade, Associate Professor Kailash Mehra stood at third position by the stay of 26 years in Govt MAM College Jammu and Prof Neelam Mohan also stood at third position with 26 years stay in GCW Parade.
Singh further said that it is very unfortunate that every government made big claims to have brought very transparent transfer policy but nothing has changed on the ground even after the coming of BJP PDP Coalition Government, the above data is enough to tell the true story.
Singh appealed to the Minister for Education to look into the matter and put in place the transfer policy in a fair and transparent way. Others present in the press conference were Ayaz Ahmad Khan, Manmohan Singh and Sharanjit Singh.
