KATHUA: The Excise Department on Wednesday destroyed 2,100 Kgs of Lahan and recovered 25 bottles of illicit liquor while conducting raids at Kathua District.
On the directions of the Excise Commissioner Mohammad Javed Khan and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and ETO Eradication Wing Jammu, Suraj Chander Singh along with Inspectors Excise Arun Kumar and Shadi Lal raided the Chartyala, Persochak, Chhibachak and Banyari areas of Kathua District to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process one working still, more than 2,100 kilograms of Lahan and 25 bottles of illicit liquor which is highly hazardous and injurious for health were recovered by the raiding team from State land. The excise team destroyed the recovered Lahan.
