Ex-Policemen League reiterates demands

JAMMU: Ex-Policemen League of District Jammu expressed concern over the problems being faced by the retired police personnel.
In the meeting held here on Saturday, K.S Sambyal DySP (Retd), President of the League, requested DGP J and K to take-up the matter with the State Government to revive of SRO 458-P dated October 13, 1999, (kept in abeyance ) as SRO 458 protects and cares of all the problems of retired police personnel.
Sambyal demanded reimbursement of medical claims; pay anomaly in the pay scale of NGOs be verified, on spot payment of Rs 10,000 in case of death of any police officer/official, all SHOs be directed to visit once in every quarter of a year at the residences of retired police officers to enquire about their health/welfare, etc.
The participants also decided that the Executive Body of District Committee members will approach the DGP J and K for suitable accommodation for office use in the police premises.
Among others who participated in the meeting include Choudhary Bachan Singh Retd SSP, V.P Gupta, R.K Bali General Secretary, Youdhvir Anand, Ashok Bhagat, Hari Chand Bhagat, Gulzar Ahmed, Yoginder Singh Jamwal, Ch. Mohd Saleem, Ch. Balwant Rai, Kasturi Lal, N.K Abrol, H.L Mehra, Mohammad Saqiqui, Bharam Dass, Dhian Singh and Shamsher Bhagat.
