JAMMU: All Jammu and Kashmir Graduate Engineers Association (Civil) led by State President Er. Mujib Tak and State General Secretary Er. Gandeep Pargal met Commissioner/Secretary, PHE and I&FC Department, Sanjeev Verma, here at PWD Guest House, Gandhi Nagar, and discussed burning issues of in-service Graduate Engineers of PHE/I&FC Department.
The deputation demanded release of Running Grades, Regularisation / Confirmation of services of Engineers at all levels, filling up vacant posts at different levels from AE to CE by way of promotions, release of Pay Band-4 in favour of SE cadre as per directions of Supreme Court, Revision of Engineering cadre on the pattern of R&B Department and empowering the Development Commissioner Works.
The Commissioner was apprised that the running grades already approved are yet to be released. Regarding regularization/ confirmation of the services of the Engineers at all levels, it was briefed that after rendering more than 28 years of service, Engineers are still awaiting even for their first confirmation and previous practice i.e One Time Confirmation should be adopted for speedy disposal of long pending regularization cases. Further, Commissioner was informed that several posts from AE to CE are lying vacant in the departments since a long time, but it is very unfortunate that no promotions are being made thereby depriving Engineers of their basic rights which is not only affecting the developmental works and timely disposal of various issues of the general public, but also marring the career of senior most Engineers who are at the verge of retirement. The Commissioner had a patient hearing and assured the Association that all their genuine demands will be fulfilled soon. Er Z.A Malik, Er. Ajay Gupta, Er. Ajay Talwar, Er Sanjay Gupta, Er.
