Early diagnosis of Cardio Vascular Diseases vital: Dr Sushil

JAMMU: Head of Depa-rtment (HoD) Cardiology Department, GMC and Super Specialist Hospital Jammu, Dr Sushil Sharma on Sunday emphasised upon the early diagnosis of Cardio Vascular Diseases because they are becoming the largest killer diseases. Dr Sushil was speaking in free medical cum diagnostic camp organized at Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital Amphalla here on the eve of Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Dr Sushil Sharma and his team of doctors, Dr Arvind Kohli, Cardio Vascular Throcis Services Surgeon and Dr Sham Jurangal, Ortho Surgeon attended the camp. Doctors and paramedical staff also assisted in the camp. About 300 patients of various diseases were examined by these doctors and free medicines were distributed to all the patients besides free diagnostic tests were also conducted.
Dr Sushil Sharma said, “Prompt consultation with the doctors and getting investigations and management is the need of hours.” In addition to this, he stressed upon maintaining a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy diet, to shun smoking along with control of diabetes and hypertension and lipids which are important risk factors of heart diseases.
