Drug peddler held at Gole Market

JAMMU: Police on Wednesday apprehended a drug peddler from Gandhi Nagar’s Gole Market area and recovered big consignment of intoxicating capsules and tablets from his possession.
According to a report, SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar DySP (P) Mir Imtiyaz Ahmed assisted by Sub Inspector Tariq Ahmed along with police party while performing Naka checking at Gole Market Gandhi Nagar signaled a youth on motorcycle (JK02AL/9025) for checking but on seeing Naka party the motorcyclist tried to break the Naka. He was consequently caught by the police party. During questioning he disclosed his name as Pawan Kumar alias Parveen, son of Kasturi Lal resident of 192 Rehari Colony, Jammu and on checking 360 Tablets with brand name Nitravet and 210 Proxyvon Spasma capsules were recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 82/2016 under sections 8, 21 and 22 NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned police station. The arrest was carried out under operation Sanjeevani, the drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu Dr. Sunil Gupta.
