Div Com takes stock of damages, relief, rehabilitation
KATHUA: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu accompanied by IGP Jammu, Rajesh Kumar visited Tehsil Bani and held meeting with officers of Tehsil and district administration at Forest Rest House on Monday.
ADDC Kathua Narinder Singh Bali, SSP Kathua Mohan Lal, XEns of PWD, PDD, PHE, PMGSY and other Tehsil and district level officers were present during the visit.
SDM Bani M.A Banday apprised the Divisional Commissioner Shantmanu about the damages due to recent incessant rains and floods in the tehsil.
While giving detail of loss of livestock in the recent fury of rain in the Tehsil, it was apprised that 10 cows, 17 bulls, 19 buffalows, four horses, 68 sheeps and 55 goats died due to incessant rains resulting in landslide in the hilly Tehsil.
Giving detailed account of the damages done to the crops due to rain, it was informed that a total of 43,036 Kanals of crop land was damaged.
It was also disclosed that a total of 20 houses were fully damaged besides 15 houses were partially damaged. Six cattle sheds were fully damaged whereas two sheds were partially damaged in the recent rains.
