DB seeks status in PIL for computerisation of courts

JAMMU: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by practicing Advocates seeking direction for incorporating a system of e-filing in urgent matters, computerisation of case filing center, making status of fresh files for defect available online, increasing number of employees at filing counter, and at sections for quickly checking defects, making case status, orders passed available online and making a comprehensive website for subordinate courts and saving of records in electronic format to prevent its destruction, and making use of the sign boards for displaying case number outside court rooms, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice B.S Walia after hearing Advocate Aparajita Jamwal for the PIL whereas Senior AAG Seema Shekhar appearing for the state, observed that Senior AAG submitted that due to circumstances beyond her control, the status report as directed by the court could not be filed and further submitted that Chief Secretary shall file status report on or before next date of hearing.
Upon this Division Bench further observed that Sr. AAG Seema Shekhar further undertakes that in case status report is not filed on or before next date, Chief Secretary shall remain present before the court and fixed 10th November, 2016 as next date of hearing.
