Contempt plea filed in non-implementation of judgment on KAS grades to Secys of CJ, Judges

JAMMU: In a contempt petition filed by Secys of CJ, Judges seeking initiation of contempt proceedings agai-nst the respondents for non implementation of judgment passed by the Division Bench whereby Division Bench holds that Secre-taries of CJ, Judges are entitled to grades equivalent to KAS.
A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabsta after gone through the contempt petition issued notice to Chief Secretary, Law Secretary and Principal Secretary Finance.
Division Bench further issued show cause notice to Chief Secretary, Law Secretary and Principal Secretary Finance as to why they shall not be punished for not implementing the judgment of the Division Bench.
Division Bench further observed that if the implementation of order be not filed before next date, hief Secretary, Law Secretary and Principal Secretary Finance shall appear in person.
In the petition, petitioners want direction to the respondents to implement the provisions of SRO 386 of 2008 dt. Ist of Dec, 2008, so far as the petitioners category is concerned and grant the benefit of higher pay grade of the next higher posts /scales i.e. Rs.12,000-16,500, Rs.14,300-18,300 and Rs.18,400-22,400( unrevised) in terms of the aforementioned SRO with effect from the date of issuance of the same.
